Good Bible verses

I have done a lot of criticizing the Bible and religion in general, even though I try to be as unbiased as possible. (it is easier in some cases than others) So today I will list some good Bible verses.

“The heart of the prudent getteth knowledge; and the ear of the wise seeketh knowledge.”
– Proverbs 18:15

“Wise men lay up knowledge: but the mouth of the foolish is near destruction.”
– Proverbs 10:14

“Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.”
– Ecclesiastes 9:10

“When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.”
– 1 Corinthians 13.11

“Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.”
– I Thessalonians 5:21

“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”
– Philippians 4:8

“A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.”
– Proverbs 15:1

“Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.”
– Romans 12:9

Sorry that there isn’t more, but it’s hard to find good verse without ‘God this…’ or ‘Jesus that…’ or faith and Heaven involved.

  1. Nice. Here’s additional from Jer 17:

Cursed is the man who trusts in mankind, And makes flesh his strength, And whose heart turns away from the Lord. [v. 5]

The heart is more deceitful than all else, And is desperately sick; Who can understand it? [v. 9]
