The Bible might as well replace Exodus 35:2 with this:
“You must work for six days, but on the seventh you must all sit around and do nothing. Everything must come to a complete standstill and no work shall be done, anyone who disobeys this law shall be killed, firemen, policemen and hospital staff must stop working, fast food places and stores must close. Nothing shall be done, because the day that the Lord took a nap after creating the earth, despite the fact that he is omnipotent, is important.”
The real Bible verse says this, but the idea is the same:
“For six days, work is to be done, but the seventh day shall be your holy day, a Sabbath of rest to the LORD. Whoever does any work on it must be put to death.”
So according to God, the world must come to a complete standstill. Just as well no-one listens to him!
