Creationists – denying only some of science

A thing that I find annoying is that Creationists are so hostile towards biology, cosmology, archaeology, geology and all the other fields that make a say about the age of the earth, and yet they fully accept an spherical earth, disease being caused by bacteria, physics and every other scientific field.  You never hear a Creationist saying “prove to me that quantum dynamics works”, or “where’s your evidence to support the germ theory”. No, they’re fine with that, but they think that science that proves an old earth has to constantly prove everything in detail and without a doubt.

Not only that, but they don’t apply such scrutiny to their OWN beliefs. They rarely actually question what it is they believe, and if they do then sooner or later they stop believing!

They accept all our understanding of medicine, physics and technology, just to name a few, but they think that 200 years of scientific research in the fields of biology, botany, geology, cosmology, archaeology and paleontology are completely wrong. Besides being hypocritical this double-standard and point blank refusing to accept facts makes for a difficult person to debate with.

I don’t know about other Christians but I find all these fields fascinating. Biology shows us the irreducible complexity of organisms like the flagella motor which show’s God supreme intelligence; Cosmology with Edwin Hubble’s discovery of the expanding universe back in 1935 revealing that the world once had a finite beginning; Archaeology in particular Ron Wyatt’s discovery of Noah’s Ark which the Turkish government has honored with an official visiting center; Geology.. well the earth is so just damn beautiful.

    • Just to let you know, irreducible complexity doesn’t exist. Richard Dawkins has quite a good explanation about how Evolution is like a mountain; a gradual slope of complexity. The universe itself is finite, but the singularity could have been indefinite. I have never heard about this Ark discovery, but a site with images on the internet shows it to be a natural formations. Although I agree with you that the earth, and the universe, is a beautiful and amazing place.
